Say Bye To Your Problem Solving Worries
Problem Solving: "Ranking Priorities"
For this weeks Tech assignment we worked on problem solving. The technique that I decided to chose was "Ranking Priorities" for my Ethnic Inequalities and Intergroup Relations class and Biology 121 class, because my biggest problem is worrying about the "now" factor.I have an extremely hard time focusing on what needs to get done in a reasonable fashion and this technique helped me stay focused on one thing at a time. "Ranking Priorities" helped me figure out how to separate what was more important than the other. To start what I did was write down all of my homework assignments for the week for each class. I then ranked each assignment based on if it was A= Absolutely Essential, B= Important, or C= Optional, then I put a number next to each letter depending on which one needed to be accomplished first. So for example if I did Bio 121 reading i would put C-1 because this is optional and has no specific due date. I made the "Ranking Priorities" for the week of October 3-7. The reason I enjoyed this one out of all the rest was because it was quick and efficient and it will keep me organized for each week. When I tried this last week, I had no trouble at all keeping up with my work so I decided that instead of being all over the place and unorganized with my assignments, why not just make a quick little checklist. I got all of my really important assignments done so that for the rest of the week I didn't have to be stressed out and wondering how I was going to get through yet another week.
Ive tried this before but i don't think i did it right. I wasn't sure how it was actually effective but you cleared that up for me
ReplyDeleteRanking priorities is a great way to stay organized, but I think there are better ways to go about doing this. Personally for me I like to use my online calendar, and rank my assignments by time slots.
